The worst thing that may happen is to try to do something laparoscopically and fail to show the basic skills. You should be able to suture an episiotomy before attempting a caesarean section. Similarly, you should be able to move instruments decisively through the abdomen, identify structures correctly and hold the camera dependably before doing a laparoscopic operation.
