Dora’s Birthday Party Fun Ideas
Dora the Explorer has taken preschoolers on adventures for a decade. Her 10th birthday bash took place as a primetime television program on 15th August 2010 named Dora’s Big Birthday Adventure. The birthday also took the form of video game, Dora the Explorer: Dora’s Big Birthday Adventure. It’s great to celebrate your kid’s birthday with Dora’s Adventure Theme for which you should explore Birthday Party Places in Phoenix AZ and other places on BirthdayPartyAZ.wordpress.com. Here are some wonderful ideas for your child’s Dora Birthday Party.
Invitations
You can create homemade invitations which are unique and fun. Here are some ideas:
- Cut big letters D, O, R and A of cardstock and stick them side by side with glue in such a way that they will overlap slightly and spell out DORA. Write invitation details and party details inside the empty spaces of the letters.
- Draw a map on a construction paper leading to location of the party. Glue Dora stickers on to the map. Also draw parks, trees and other landmarks which your recipients can identify. Roll the maps and send them in a mailing tube.
- Take card style invitations and punch holes in their corners and attach them to disposable compasses. Mail these invitations in padded envelopes.
Decoration and Food
Here are some fun decoration and food ideas for the party:
Decoration
- Dora is bilingual! To denote this, create two signs of each item in your party area – one with an English word and the other in Spanish.
- Playing episodes of Dora the Explorer in the background of the party is a fantastic idea for kids.
- Create a banner with words “Welcome to (child’s name) Birthday Adventure!” and hang it at the entrance.
- Decorate the area with potted plants and trees, or inflatable trees in and around the location.
Food
- If you are going to serve a full meal, place up a taco bar and allow your guests to help themselves. In the meals, include ground beef, corn and flour tortillas, lettuce, beans, shredded cheese, tomatoes, salsa and sour cream.
- Include a bowl of tortilla chips with a variety of dips, like guacamole, salsa, queso dip or black bean dip. To add to the fun, serve the chips in upside-down safari hats!
- Cheese roll-ups are also fun. Dust flour tortillas with shredded cheese and heat in microwave, just to let the cheese melt. Roll tortilla tight and cut in small pieces. Insert toothpicks to secure the rollup.
Dora has educated your children to face adventure and find solutions to problems. Your kids’ love for her is worth. Involve her in your child’s birthday and let her/him enjoy the birthday with an innovative theme and fun!
