4. Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD)

 

IITD is ranked 15th in the BRICS ranking. Originally founded in 1961 as an engineering college, today it features 11 inter-disciplinary centers, it often overlaps science and engineering programs. It has a 325-acre campus located in the picturesque Hauz Khas area, in the south of New Delhi. There are a number of other universities in its neighboring area, including Jawaharlal Nehru University and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).

6. University of Delhi

 

The highest ranked non-IIT Indian university is the University of Delhi and it ranks 41st in the BRICS ranking. It’s considered to be one of the best multidisciplinary universities in India, it’s made up of 77 affiliated colleges and has around 132,400 students. Established by the British Indian Government in 1922, it is today one of the largest Indian universities, made of two large campuses, North and South, the latter boasting of 69 acres of picturesque hilly terrain.
